TISH Festival in milk bars

We invite you to join us for the TISH Jewish Food Festival in selected Warsaw milk bars. On the occasion of the Festival, they are changing the names of some of the dishes to their Yiddish equivalents. Check them out and you will realise how many similarities there are between what Jewish people eat for their holidays, and what many Poles remember eating at their grandmother’s tables.

The theme of this year's edition of TISH Festival is "Land," which brings us close to what is seasonal and local, what grows in our fields and meadows. Where can we find food that makes more use of local ingredients than milk bars? Like each year, Jewish dishes return to the streets of Warsaw for the TISH Festival! Just imagine walking into a milk bar, and instead of being offered ‘naleśniki,’ you get blintzes with cheese, potato pancakes (placki ziemniaczane) are replaced by latkes, and instead of stuffed cabbage rolls (gołąbki) you are served holishki.
