After the war, 350,000 Jewish survivors remained within the borders of the ruined Polish state. They faced questions such as: to believe in the new political system and stay, or to depart forever from the country where the Genocide took place?

As a result of the subsequent waves of emigration the Jewish community in Poland kept shrinking until it reached a point when its revival seemed impossible. And yet, after 1989, the Jewish community begin to rebuild itself anew. POLIN Museum is part of this history.
