Łucja Koch appointed Deputy Director of Education and Sales

On 1 February 2024, Zygmunt Stępiński, Director of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews appointed Łucja Koch to the post of Deputy Director of Education and Sales.
"I am proud to have been a part of POLIN Museum for 15 years, as I deeply believe in its mission," said Łucja Koch. "We are building a popular centre of culture and education, a space for free debate which does not shy away from difficult topics. We have been developing the field of anti-discriminatory education for years now—today, with the rise of antisemitic sentiments, this area seems to be of particular importance."

Member of the POLIN Museum staff since 2009. From 2020, as the Director’s plenipotentiary, Łucja was responsible for, among others, developing and implementing the Museum’s strategy for the years 2021-2025 and for the Departments of Education and Sales. Since 2018, she managed the development and realisation of the Jewish Cultural Heritage project, and the EEA Grants which financed a substantial part of POLIN Museum’s activities. In the years 2013-2017 she headed the first edition of the JCH project, which won the 2017 Europa Nostra/European Heritage Award. In the years 2013-2022, she acted as Head of the POLIN Education Department, and since 2023—Head of the Strategic Programs Department.
Łucja is a graduate of the Institute of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw and the Postgraduate Centre for Managers of Culture at the Warsaw School of Economics. From 2013 until 2020 she was a member of the board of the Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM). Łucja is an expert in international projects dedicated to education on the Holocaust and countering antisemitism carried out by the OSCE/ODHIR, UNESCO and the Council of Europe. She is a member of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
