TISH Festival: "Thousand Pages Devoted to Food" – Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett’s talk on her cookbook collection
Cookbooks have always been - next to the Bible -the bestselling publications. They are much more than a mere collection of recipes - they are a testament to the era they stem from. We may find out from them what our grandparents used to eat, what dishes were considered a delicacy and how our culinary taste has evolved through decades and centuries.
- 30 September (Wednesday), 6.30PM

Professor Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, Chief Curator of POLIN Museum core exhibition, will talk about her vast collection of cookbooks (she owns over a thousand of them!) and share with us a recipe from a cookbook published in Yiddish in pre-war Warsaw.
Online premiere of the recorded meeting, held in English with Polish subtitles.
