Prof. Shlomo Avinieri from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem will talk about Theodore Herzl, the father of Zionism – the Jewish national movement, and about his plans for developing the future Jewish state and what is left of these plans in Israel today.

Shlomo Avineri, Professor of Political Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, served as Director-General of Israel’s foreign ministry under Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. His most recent book is “Theodor Herzl and the Foundation of the Jewish State” (2014).
