November 23, 10.00 AM.

During the workshop, participants will engage in active observation of the city. Using their cameras, they will try to find out whether there is such a thing as Warsaw A and Warsaw B, better and worse areas of the capital. What sort of people live there, and how do the inhabitants themselves perceive and explain this divide? What is the distinction between natural borders and those created by the media, politicians, and by Varsovians themselves? The workshops will be conducted by Hanna Musiałówna, a well-known photo reporter, who will explain what it means to think through photography, how to capture specific social situations by means of framing technique, and will discuss the challenges faced by photo reporters in their daily work.

Participation is free. Reservations apply: tel. +48 22 47 10 301; e-mail: [email protected]

The cycle Multicultural Warsaw is carried out within the framework of the Faces of Diversity component of the Jewish Cultural Heritage project.
