Publication: "Żydzi w walce z Niemcami 1939–1945" | "Jews Against Nazi Germany 1939–1945"

The book compiles material from the international conference Jews in the Fight Against Nazi Germany During World War Two, organized at POLIN Museum as part of the GEOP program on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
The publication addresses the issue of Jewish participation in the fight against the Germans during WW2 and of Jewish resistance to the Nazi policy of extermination. Almost one million Jewish soldiers fought in the armies of the Allied forces. Jews engaged in armed resistance in the occupied countries of Europe—their heroic acts include uprisings in the ghettos and revolts in Nazi death camps. Various forms of civilian resistance by Jews testified to their courage, determination, and agency in the face of mortal danger. By presenting different forms of the struggle and resistance, the book challenges the enduring stereotype of Jews as passive victims of the Holocaust.
