Prof. Paweł Śpiewak has passed away

We are deeply saddened by the news of Professor Paweł Śpiewak’s passing. A sociologist and historian of ideas, professor at the University of Warsaw, journalist and MP of the 5th term, he headed the Jewish Historical Institute in the years 2011-2020.

We remain forever grateful for his unstinting support for POLIN Museum. He was a member of the Community Council, an Advisory Body to the Museum director, he participated in academic conferences, debates and book launches. Together with POLIN Museum, he spoke out on socially vital issues. 

Our thoughts are with Professor Śpiewak’s nearest and dearest.
