All of us at POLIN Museum are deeply saddened by the passing of Andrzej Wajda, a distinguished film director. This is an enormous loss for the Polish culture, and also for our Museum.

Andrzej Wajda was a member of the Polish Commitee in Support of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, a body comprising eminent personalities from the fields of culture, science, politics, diplomacy and business. He was our consultant in the process of creating the core exhibition and in other issues related to carrying out the mission of our Museum.
We screened and discussed the films of Andrzej Wajda at the Museum on numerous occasions. We were also honoured to host him during the "Jewish Motifs" International Film Festival held at POLIN museum.
We extend our most sincere condolences to the family of Andrzej Wajda.
