On August 21, 2013, a moving ceremony took place at the Museum of the History of Polish Jews - the title of Righteous among the Nations was conferred on several new individuals and families.

The title was awarded to: the Baranek family, the Maj family, Stefania Cendrowska, Paulina Licińska, Helena Wrzosek-Gołowin as well as Marianna and Józef Wróblewski.

Since 1963, a special committee at the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem, overseen by the Supreme Court of Israel, has been awarding the Righteous among the Nations title and medal. The title is given in tribute to those who disinterestedly and often for purely human reasons risked their lives to save their Jewish friends, neighbors and acquaintances, or yet, often, complete strangers, who had been sentenced to death in the Holocaust.

The title has so far been conferred on 24 811 heroes, including 6 394 Poles (figures as of January 1, 2013).
