Guided tours for groups of the temporary exhibition

"Around Us a Sea of Fire. The Fate of Jewish Civilians During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising" is the first exhibition devoted to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to focus on the perspective of civilians. During the Uprising, they hid in bunkers and shelters, defying the German system of deportations and mass murder. Instead of responding to summons to turn up for transports heading towards imminent death, they remained in hiding. Their silent act of resistance was as important as armed combat.

  • Open: 18 April 2023 – 8 January 2024

The tour consists of two integral parts: a meeting with a guide at the exhibition and listening to the soundscape recorded on audioguides, which introduces the atmosphere and feelings of the civilian population during the Ghetto Uprising. The tour takes about 1.5 hours. At the end of exhibition you can listen to Marian Turski speech "Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent" from 2020 during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

We invite groups of adults as well as secondary school students for a guided tour through the temporary exhibition "Around Us a Sea of Fire. The Fate of Jewish Civilians During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising."
