"Two beginnings of the Jewish community in Warsaw" – lecture by Hanna Węgrzynek

The Jewish community in Warsaw came into being at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, yet already in 1527 the law forbidding Jews from residing within the city limits was issued. The Jewish community, back then still an illegal collective, was reconstituted in Warsaw in the second half of the 18th century.
