Victor Young, the legendary composer of jazz standards, was born in Chicago, but obtained his musical education in Warsaw. Years later, Hollywood films of first half of the 20th century featured scores composed by Young.

The Oscar for his score to the film Around the World in 80 Days marked the peak of his career. We will screen this as well as other films, whilst Kuba Stankiewicz and his trio takes us on a musical tour of Victor Young’s world.

The concert will be preceded by a talk with Kuba Stankiewicz and the ceremony of donating Young’s graduation diploma from the Warsaw conservatory to the POLIN Museum’s collection.
