Hanukkah with Chabad Lubavitch
The Museum and Chabad Lubavitch Poland would like to invite you to a public ceremony of lighting a Hanukkah lamp (hanukiah) in front of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
This year celebrations of the eight-day holiday of Hanukkah will begin on November 27. Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is strictly tied to the history of the Jewish People. Today, the lighting of the Hanukkah lamp also symbolizes the peace that should reign among nations regardless of religion or worldview.
Chabad Lubavitch is a community that strives to disseminate both spiritual heritage, Jewish culture and universal human values. The lighting of Hanukkah lamps in public places is one of the organization’s international initiatives.
The ceremony will take place at 6.00 PM near the main entrance to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews on Zamenhof St., in the vicinity of the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes. It will be followed by a concert of traditional Jewish songs performed by popular Israeli duet Tzemed Re’im in the Museum auditorium.
