Studia Judaica semi-annual journal of the Polish Association for Jewish Studies invites representatives of various disciplines (including history, culture, literature, art and religious studies) to submit article proposals to a special issue focusing on Jewish Łódź: the city and the region.

  • Abstracts should be sent by email until January 31, 2024 to the secretary of the journal Krzysztof Niweliński at [email protected]
  • Detailed editorial guidelines can be found on the journal’s website under "Instructions for Authors"

The issue, published in cooperation with the Filip Friedman Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Łódź and POLIN Museum, will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the final deportations from the Litzmannstadt Ghetto to Auschwitz in August 1944.

The editorial team is particularly interested in texts addressing the topic from a new perspective, employing new methods and drawing on new sources. The deadline for abstracts of original, previously unpublished scholarly articles, critical editions of primary sources, and book reviews (500 words in English or Polish) is January 31, 2024. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified within 14 days. Texts in Polish or English should be submitted no later than May 31, 2024.

The special issue of Studia Judaica will be published in the second half of 2024. Guest editors are Prof. Natalia Aleksiun, Dr. Adam Sitarek, Dr. Ewa Wiatr and Dr. Michał Trębacz, head of POLIN Museum’s Research Department.

Studia Judaica is a double-peer reviewed journal.
