Call for applications for the Georgetown Leadership Seminar 2023 are open
The Jan Karski Educational Foundation announces applications are open for the prestigious Georgetown Leadership Seminar 2023 organized by the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where Prof. Jan Karski taught. The seminar for some 30 future leaders from around the world will be held October 22-27, 2023 in Washington, DC.

Purpose of the seminar:
- To promote dialogue and interdisciplinary international cooperation among future world leaders,
- To broaden the knowledge of participants/participants on the main issues in the foreign policy-making process,
- To establish contacts and linkages of key importance for strengthening international cooperation and understanding among leaders/leaders of the global community.
Candidates:
Employees of government and local administrations and organizations providing public services, leaders/leaders of non-governmental organizations operating at the local, regional or central level, as well as experts/experts, managers/managers and journalists/journalists may apply for participation in the seminar.
Preference will be given to candidates/candidates who are active professionally and socially in the spirit of Jan Karski's ideas in the following fields:
- Foreign affairs,
- International relations,
- Political and social activities,
- Internal and international security,
- Strategic planning.
Formal criteria:
- Must be 40 years+ to attend,
- Full university education, at least a master's degree,
- Permanent employment (preferred),
- Professional experience - a minimum of 5 years,
- Must be fluent in English.
What the scholarship covers:
The scholarship covers the cost of participation in the seminar, full board, accommodation, health insurance and travel to/from Washington, covered by the Jan Karski Educational Foundation.
Application deadline: until July 25, 2023
Interviews for those qualified for the next stage: August/September 2023
The application must be completed by computer and should include:
- Application form consisting of:
- Personal questionnaire.
- Cover letter.
- An essay about Jan Karski in Polish and English.
- Professional resume (CV).
- Two letters of recommendation in English, preferably from the employer/supervisor/research supervisor sent by them directly to the Foundation before the application deadline.
- Consent to the processing of personal data.
- Original current employment certificate.
PLEASE NOTE: Keep one copy of the application, as materials received by the Foundation will not be returned to candidates.
No English translation is required.
