- 2008 – POLIN Museum building was awarded the prestigious International Architecture Award by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
- 2013 – First prize in the Eurobuild Awards for the best commercial or public building design in the Architectural Design of the Year category.
- 2013 – Contractor of the museum's undulating walls in sprayed concrete (shotcrete) technology was awarded the US Outsanding Shotcrete Project of the Year award in the International Project category.
- 2014 – SARP Award of the Year, awarded by the Association of Polish Architects (SARP), and Award for the Best Architectural Object Built Using Public Funds under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland for the POLIN Museum building.
- 2014 – POLIN Museum distinguished by readers of POLITYKA weekly in the Architectural Award poll (the building was among the five finalists for the "Polityka" Architectural Award for 2013 and won in the Internet poll).
- 2014 – The Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) has awarded the POLIN Museum the Findlandia Prize for Achitecture.

- 10 February 2015 – The POLIN Museum building reached the semi-finals of the international Mies van der Rohe architectural competition organised by the European Commission and Parliament and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.
- 24 April 2015 – 35th "Sybilla" Competition for the Museum Event of the Year 2014 – honourable mention in the Historical and Archaeological Exhibitions category for the permanent exhibition "1000 years of the history of Polish Jews" and in the Conservation and Protection of Cultural Heritage category for the conservation of the sukkah from Szydłowiec, awarded by the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections.
