New Collections portal – discover the heritage of Polish Jews online!

POLIN Museum presents the Collections portal – a special place where the history and culture of Polish Jews come alive thanks to the thousands of unique objects. It is the first digital collection of that size featuring Judaica, artworks, personal keepsakes and archival materials from several dozen institutions of culture, available in one place!

What can you find in the portal?

  • Over 7,000 artefacts – Judaica, archival objects, everyday objects and unique keepsakes,

  • Artworks – from the 19th century, through the interwar and postwar periods, to the present day,

  • 50 recordings of oral history – testimonies of people whose life stories form the history of Polish Jews,

  • Thousands of archival photos documenting Jewish life in Poland,

and all of the above collected in a wide variety of forms—a collection catalogue, a curator’s selection from the collections, or narrative stories.

Who is this portal for?

  • Researchers and academic lecturers – it is a new source for historical, genealogical and cultural studies,

  • Teachers, students, pupils – it is a precious material that can be used during history lessons, social studies lessons, and Polish lessons,

  • People interested in history – access to objects and documents related to Jewish sites and communities.

Portal was built in cooperation with 30 institutions of culture from all over Poland. Thanks to their dedication, it has been possible to digitize and make accessible objects that were previously scattered and often unavailable to the public.

Collections is more than just a collection of objects – these are stories that await your interpretation. Visit the portal now and discover the rich heritage of Polish Jews!
